Where Should I Put It?
FrontPoint recommends placing a carbon monoxide sensor near each sleeping area, and in rooms containing, or adjacent to, fuel burning devices.
How Many Do I Need?
To protect against poisonous CO gas, we recommend placing at least one CO sensor in each sleeping area (a common area adjoining one or more bedrooms). Additional sensors may be placed in rooms containing, or adjacent to, fuel burning appliances such as furnaces, boilers, stoves, grills, and fireplaces.
What Else Should I Know?
Avoid putting a sensor directly above or beside fuel burning devices or heating vents, in utility closets, or directly next to automobile exhaust pipes, as doing so may result in false alarms.
