Heat Sensor
Description
The Heat Sensor detects potential fire conditions when either the temperature rises to 135°F or when there is a rapid rise in temperature. Heat Sensors are great for dusty or humid areas of your home, where a Smoke and Heat Detector may not be ideal.
Features
- Fixed Temperature Alarm at 135°F
- "Rate of Rise" Alarm at > +15°F per Minute
- 100% wireless signal transmission
- Automatic detection of malfunction & low battery
- 4.5" diameter x 2.25" height
- Battery: One Standard 9V battery
- Battery Life: ~2-3 years
- 100% wireless signal transmission
- Automatic detection of malfunction & low battery
Where Should I Put It?
Mount the Heat Sensor in a central location, either on the ceiling or on a wall. Do not place the sensor near other devices (such as ovens, heat vents, furnaces) that may change temperature rapidly.
How Many Do I Need?
Heat Sensors should be used in combination with Smoke & Heat Detectors. Heat Sensors are great for locations that are dusty, dirty, or otherwise not suitable for smoke detection. The ideal number will depend on the number of such areas in your home.
What Else Should I Know?
If you're wall mounting, the sensor should be at least 4-6" of the ceiling. If mounting on the ceiling, the sensor should be at least 4" away from any walls. You shouldn't rely solely on Heat Sensors for life safety; use Heat Sensors to augment Smoke and Heat Detectors.
