How to Get Personalized Alerts, Triggers, & System Notifications

Frontpoint’s full suite of advanced interactive features allows you to control your system via computer, smartphone or tablet – wherever there’s an internet connection. At home or away, you'll have the tools to keep you in touch and in control for the ultimate peace of mind.

Arming Reminders*

We all have a lot going on in our lives and often, things fall through the cracks. Forgetting to arm your system can be a costly mistake. Luckily, this mistake can be easily avoided.

We'll send you a reminder if you leave your house and forget to arm your system.  Setting arming reminders is a no brainer!

How to set an arming reminder:

  • Go to MyFrontpoint.com:
    1. Select the Notifications tab
    2. Click New Notification
    3. Select Arming Reminder

User Codes*

Security systems were designed to keep intruders out of your house. Did you know you can set up notifications to see who enters and leaves your home?

By creating multiple, unique user codes for friends and family, you can track who is coming and going. Did your child make it home from school? Did your spouse leave on time? Find out by setting up unique user codes.

How to create unique user codes:

  • Go to MyFrontpoint.com:
    1. Select the Security tab
    2. Click User Codes from the Security Sub-tabs
    3. Add a user and assign a 4 digit code

No-Show Alerts*

We know peace of mind is important - that's why we have a cool feature called No-Show Alerts, which notifies you when someone you expected to be home at a specific time doesn’t show up.

This feature can be used when you are expecting the return of your child from a sleepover, your spouse from a business trip, or any other situation.

How to set up a No-Show Alert:

  • Go to MyFrontpoint.com
    1. Select the Notifications tab
    2. Click New Notification
    3. Select No-Show Alert

*Feature only available with Interactive and Ultimate Protection monitoring plan

Are there any plans to incorporate "whole house generator status" to notifications?

Dan - thanks for your question. At this point that feature does not exist, but it does sound like a function that should be "on the list" for our technology partner Alarm.com to consider in future enhancements to their interactive monitoring platform. They are always looking for the best ways to improve the offering - and we like to present their upgrades and additions as soon as they are released. Thanks again - we'll pass this one on right away.

I have the Protection Plan for a vacation home in the local mountains. We recently had a power outage, a pretty common occurrence up there, and the alarm lost power for more than a couple of days. There was no notification from Front Point about this and my home could have been burglarized during this period. You would think this would part of a $35/mo. basic service plan, but no, I was told I need to pay $8/mo. more to get this service. I would terminate my service if I was not bound to a contract. FrontPoint, you need to include at least a courtesy power off notification (when the unit loses power) in your basic plan. Come on!

This is very informative. I have used the arming reminders in the past but I forgot all about them. They work great and kept me up to date when I forgot the set the alarm.

Thanks, Daniel. You are in good company... many happy FrontPoint subscribers have expressed the same level of support for the reminders.

I would sure like having the opportunity to having two different entry delay times in effect at the same time. 30 seconds is perfect for most purposes but I have a garage overhead door that would need a much longer time. If I adjust the entry to the longer time it would compromise the security of the system itself. The door in between is protected by the shorter time but getting to that door requires at least an additional minute!

Sometimes when accessing the cameras from a computer some of them are not showing. They are working as you can see them on a direct link from the DVR but not when looking through your site. What gives?

Wallace - thanks so much for your question. The cameras that FrontPoint offers are connected securely through a direct link to your wireless network via an internet connection. The camera streaming live feed and recordings are viewable from www.myfrontpoint.com and/or the alarm.com app only if you have signed up for the Ultimate Monitoring package with FrontPoint Security. Please keep note that the FrontPoint Security system will only work with the alarm.com camera,s and we do not support any 3rd party cameras or DVR systems. The cameras can be purchased from FrontPoint. If there are still questions, please call our Support team - they will be happy to help you. Thanks again.

It seems that getting notifications if you forget to arm your system would be a great idea. My friend's family has a security system and they have asked me multiple times to go an activate it for them when they have forgotten. A home security system really can't do much for you if you forget to activate it.
