FrontPoint Friday: Meet Lisa Namejko
Say hello to Lisa Namejko, FrontPoint’s Creative Production Manager!
Lisa joined FrontPoint in July 2010, when the company was still in its early stages and getting on its own feet. Since then, FrontPoint has grown rapidly, and with that growth came change.
So it’s fair to say that Lisa has seen her share of change over the years. But it wasn’t just at FrontPoint, she also experienced it within herself. And she was awesome enough (she’ll tell you herself) to share her FrontPoint story with me.
How long have you been here and what do you do at FrontPoint?
It’ll be four years on July 19, but I feel like it was just yesterday that I started.
At one point, I was the Jill of all trades. We were only 50 people and I was able to do a little bit of everything. It was easy to have your hand in every cookie jar. Today, I still cater to every department. If you make me list every one of them and every person that I work with on a weekly basis we would be here all day. It may be a photo shoot with Sales, branding discussions with Fulfillment or training manuals with Support. Basically, anything you see with a FrontPoint logo on it, we have had a hand in it… and that makes me feel good.
How did you find FrontPoint?
After graduating from UVA (go Wahoos!), I knew that finding something that asked for an Art History degree would be difficult. I knew what I loved, and that was design. I started my own graphic design company and quickly got involved with the real estate business.
Unfortunately, things in the housing market got a little rocky and I decided to go back to school to get a Graphic Design degree. Upon graduation I was still unsure what road I would be taking. That uncertainty was the best thing that ever happened to me. My résumé caught the attention of a certain someone at FrontPoint within weeks of graduating. He asked me in for an interview and the rest is FrontPoint history.
What made you choose FrontPoint?
I still feel like FrontPoint chose me. But in full disclosure, I was sold the day that I sat down with Kevin Bish, the Vice President of Marketing. There is something to be said about loving the people that you work with. He immediately made me feel like this was the place that I was supposed to be. Looking back on it, I loved that it was a small company that showed a bright future. I loved that they were the kind of place that made me feel like I could grow.
What are some big projects you’re working on?
We really show up everywhere in the company via all sort of 'projects.' The Creative Team is not just design and computer graphics. We are currently promoting Social Media more heavily and partnering with other internal programs.
That’s pretty incredible. On a personal level, I heard you have a new baby (congrats!). It sounds like you’ve hit some big milestones while at FrontPoint.
Yea, I was the first female employee to have a baby while working here.
Overall, it’s been really great. I came here when I was in my twenties with a boyfriend and a puppy. Now I have a husband, a daughter, and a little bit older puppy. In the office and out of it, I was able to share with my FrontPoint family my engagement, wedding plans, wedding day, pregnancy and ultimately the birth of my baby girl, Peyton Jane. Everyone has had a chance to celebrate with me and many of those people have been present for every big moment of my life since college.
I spend so much time with such awesome people here that I am proud to call FrontPoint my family.
Last question: on a scale of 1-to-Awesome, how awesome are you?
I’m AWESOME. It’d be weird if I said I was a 1.
