1. Scope of this Policy.
This privacy policy (“policy”) describes how Frontpoint Security Solutions, LLC and its affiliates (“Frontpoint”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collect, use, and disclose your personal information
- when you access and use our websites (including, without limitation, http://www.frontpointsecurity.com) (the “Website”), as well as our mobile applications, platforms, and other online solutions, features, subdomains, and/or content that are made available by Frontpoint and include a link to this policy (the “App” and together with the Website are collectively referred to as “products or services” or the “Services”);
- when you engage in “General Interactions” with Frontpoint, which refers to your interactions with our business operations when you request information from or make general inquiries with Frontpoint, receive products and services from Frontpoint, or access Frontpoint’s business premises as a visitor, among others; and
- when you act as our job applicant, former or existing employee (or a dependent of our employee), independent contractor, temporary worker, or corporate officer or director (collectively, “Personnel”).
The term “you” or “your” refers to a natural person that interacts with our Services, works or seeks work as our Personnel, or otherwise engages in General Interactions with us.
This policy does not apply to:
- Third-Party Websites. Our Website and App may contain links to websites operated and maintained by third parties, over which we have no control. Privacy policies on such linked websites may be different from this policy. You access such linked websites at your own risk. You should always read the privacy policy of a linked website before disclosing any of your information on such a website.
This policy also describes the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information, your rights in relation to your personal information, and how you can access, update, and control how we process your personal information.
2. Personal Information We May Collect About You.
A. What is “personal information”?
“Personal information” means information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or a household, where applicable under certain U.S. state privacy laws. We may de-identify, aggregate, and/or anonymize your personal information by excluding and removing data components (such as your name, email address, or linkable tracking ID) through obfuscation, or through other means so that the resulting dataset is no longer personally identifiable to you (such resulting dataset is known as “Aggregated Data”). When we de-identify personal information to become Aggregated Data, we will not attempt to re-identify the data except to confirm that it remains de-identified or as otherwise required by applicable law. Our use of Aggregated Data is not subject to this policy.
B. Information We May Collect
The information we collect depends upon the nature of our relationship with you, the method you communicate with us, and the purposes of your interaction with us, among others. Within the preceding twelve (12) months, we may have collected the following types of personal information for the purposes listed below:
- Identifiers (including Sensitive Personal Information), such as real name, alias, postal address, unique personal identifier, online identifier, Internet Protocol address, phone number, email address, account information (including user name, account ID, and password), identification information (including social security number, other tax ID number, or photo ID), or other similar identifiers. Sensitive personal information in this category includes your social security number, tax ID number, or state photo ID number.
- Demographic Information (including Sensitive Personal Information) that identifies, relates to, describes, or is capable of being associated with a particular individual, such as name, signature, physical characteristics or description, address, bank account number, credit card number, debit card number, or any other financial information, medical information, or health insurance information. Sensitive personal information in this category includes your account log-in and password, bank account number and access code, credit card and debit card number and access code, medical information, or health insurance information.
- Protected Classifications (including Sensitive Personal Information), such as characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law, such as race, age, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, marital status, medical condition, disability, citizenship status, and military and veteran status. Most information in this category also constitutes Sensitive personal information.
- Commercial information, such as records of personal property, products or services purchased, obtained, or considered, or other purchasing or consuming histories or tendencies.
- Note that we do not store your credit card information (credit card number, name on card, security code, expiration date, and CVV). Only payment processors may store your payment card information to facilitate payment.
- Biometric Information and Health information, such as age, gender, medical conditions, or allergies. Most information in this category also constitutes Sensitive personal information.
- Internet or other electronic network activity information, such as browsing history, search history, device identifier that we may use to identify the device(s) you use to access our Services, and other information regarding your interaction with our Services;
- Social Media Information: In addition, we may collect your profile information in connection with your social media account if you connect with us through third-party websites, such as Meta, X, or LinkedIn.
- Geolocation data, such as region, country, state, Zip or postal code, or information collected via Cookies and other similar tracking technologies or Apps; to the extent you configure the setting of our Services to enable precise geolocation to identify your location within a geographic area that is equal to or less than the area of a circle with a radius of 1,850 feet, such geolocation data collected is known as “precise geolocation data” under most U.S. state privacy laws, and constitutes “Sensitive personal information.”
- Audio and Visual information, such as customer support call recordings and information captured by camera (as described below in the “Personal Information Collected Through the Security Camera and other Camera-Enabled Products” section), electronic, visual, thermal, or similar information;
- Professional or employment-related information (includes Sensitive Personal Information):
- Personnel Information, which may include employment candidacy information, including contact, resume, and salary information as part of submissions for employment opportunities, characteristics of protected classes or groups under state or federal law, such as gender, sexual orientation, disability, citizenship, primary language, immigration status, and marital status, SSN, previous work experience, education, transcript, driver’s license information, passport number, and information relating to references, bank account information for payroll operations, benefit enrollment information, and health insurance information (where the personnel is benefit-eligible), or other personal information for enforcement of our HR/personnel policies, employment contracts, and contractor agreements, including other information disclosed in other HR policies. Sensitive personal information within this category includes your social security number, state photo identification number, passport number, bank account, protected classification, benefit enrollment records, and health insurance information.
- Professional Contacts, which may include your occupation, industry, and professional profile that you display publicly or that you voluntarily provide to us at any online or offline corporate events.
- Inferences drawn from any of the information identified above to create a profile about a consumer reflecting the consumer’s preferences, characteristics, psychological trends, predispositions, behavior, attitudes, intelligence, abilities, and aptitudes.
- From publicly accessible sources (e.g., government databases);
- Directly from a third party (e.g., our service providers for the Services, marketing and advertising partners);
- From a third party with your consent (e.g., your bank, financing partners, payment processors, affiliate partners, or via social media plugins); and
- From Cookies, tracking pixels, and other online tracking tools on our Services.
- Video and audio feeds and recordings from cameras, which may include video and audio streams captured in the surrounding environment, such as bystanders within range of the cameras, regardless of your or their knowledge of such data collection;
- Device information transmitted by your connected devices, including MAC address, device status, information about your home wi-fi network and error reports, and alarm being set via a voice command sent from a smart device;
- Content of voice communications sent to our customer support or professional monitoring specialists through our products and services;
- Information concerning your usage of our products and services, such as arming and disarming your security system, your viewing of video footage, your communication with our customer support center, when and who locked or unlocked doors, locks, or other entry point(s), room temperature, and Smart lighting’s status as on or off; and
- Surrounding information, such as detection of motion, glass breaking, and a door or window opening, detection of smoke, detection of carbon monoxide, and detection of water.
- Cookies: Cookies are small text files stored on your device (such as a computer or smart device) when you visit our Website or App.
- Chat Technology: We might answer consumer questions using a chat feature. These tools may gather personal information to the extent you provide it to the chat technology. If you do not agree to recording, you should not proceed with chat support as conversations carried out through the chat tool are recorded.
- Pixels, Web Beacons, and other similar tracking technologies: We may use other automatic data collection technologies that work similarly to Cookies, such as web beacons (clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs), UTM codes, or APIs. For example, pixel or similar technologies can track how a website visitor navigates through and interacts with the Services. Web beacons and similar technologies can monitor whether you received and opened our email.
- Social Widgets: These are buttons or icons provided by social media platforms that allow you to interact with social media services when you view a webpage or mobile app screen on the Website. These social widgets are controlled by third parties and may collect browsing data, which may be received by the third party that provided the widget.
- Session replay tools: These tools record your interactions with the Services, such as how you move throughout our Services and engage with our webforms. This information helps us identify and fix technical issues visitors may be having with the Services.
- Embedded scripts and SDKs: We may use these codes to build and integrate custom experiences on our mobile applications and other online properties, some of which may be developed by a third party.
- Cookie Management Tools: Under certain circumstances, the collection of personal information through Cookies may be considered a “sale”, “sharing”, or “targeted advertising” in certain U.S. states that have passed consumer privacy laws. You may disable these features by clicking on the “Manage Preference” button on the Cookie banner. Within the “Manage Preference” setting, you can opt out of Targeted Advertising by switching the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” toggle to the right and then click the “Save” button.
- Global Privacy Control: We recognize “Global Privacy Control”, which is a technical specification available for certain browsers that you can use to automatically inform websites of your privacy preferences for certain Cookies. You can find out more about and set up GPC at https://globalprivacycontrol.org.
- NAI/DAA Opt-Out: Certain third-party providers of Cookies that we use may be members of the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") or Digital Advertising Alliance ("DAA"). The NAI provides information regarding targeted advertising and the opt-out procedures of NAI members, including opt-out mechanisms for web browsers, mobile and other connected devices, and a tool to opt out from participating NAI members using your hashed email address for interest-based advertising. You may also visit the DAA's website, which provides information regarding targeted advertising and offers an opt-out for DAA-participating companies.
- Google Analytics: We may use Google Analytics to collect and process data about how visitors use our Websites and report on activities and trends. The data collected includes data related to your device/browser, your IP address, and on-site activities to measure and report statistics about user interactions. - Your Web Browser Settings: You may manage the Cookies’ settings by following the instructions below for several popular browsers:
- For example, we may use your personal information to confirm that a promotional campaign for our home security systems was displayed correctly to the intended audience, to measure the reach and frequency of our digital advertisements, and to ensure that our advertising partners are delivering impressions in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements. These activities help us maintain the accuracy and integrity of our advertising efforts and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Protect, investigate, mitigate, and deter against fraudulent, malicious, unauthorized, infringing, or illegal activities relating to our business operations, assets, or products and services, or to monitor and ensure the safety and security of our premises, property, employees, and visitors; and/or
- Verify your identity and/or confirm that individuals are authorized to access, use, or share information related to our products or services.
- Identify and resolve technical errors that impair the intended functionality of our security systems, App, Website, and other Services; and/or
- Troubleshoot issues with your Frontpoint equipment and ensure that alarm signals and monitoring communications function as intended.
- This may include product or bundle recommendations during your browsing or purchasing session. For example, if you select a particular Frontpoint product or bundle, we may suggest complementary equipment that is commonly paired with your selection, such as recommending an outdoor camera to accompany a garage door sensor.
- Operation of our Website or App, including your Frontpoint account.
- Facilitation or completion of transaction(s) for which we collect personal information, such as
- To confirm and/or fulfill your order;
- To provide products and services to you;
- To send you requested product or service information; and
- To send product updates or warranty information.
- Maintenance of accounting records, analyzing financial results, complying with internal audit requirements, maintaining our databases and back-ups, obtaining or maintaining insurance coverage; managing risks, or obtaining professional advice, and/or other activities in connection with our business operations.
- Communications with you about your use of the Services, our products and services, and other interactions with Frontpoint, retention of communication records, responses to customer service requests, comments and inquiries, managing our relationships with you as existing or potential customers, and for other customer care purposes.
- Corporate affiliates;
- Service providers that we use to help us run our business or deliver our products and services to you, such as our alarm monitoring company, platform provider, website and cloud hosting provider, payment service providers, suppliers, and delivery companies;
- First responders contacted in the event of an alarm or emergency signal;
- Business partners that we use to promote our products, such as marketing agencies, resellers, or affiliate partners;
- Online advertisers or data analytics providers, such as Meta and Google, for advertising purposes or for assessing our advertising and marketing campaigns and learning more about you and other users of our Website;
- Third-party entities to which you have consented to, such as social media sites you choose to link your account to or third-party payment providers;
- Law enforcement and government authorities;
- Credit reporting agencies;
- Our insurers, brokers, banks and lenders;
- In connection with a corporate transaction, i.e., in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of our company or some or all of our assets; and
- Our investors and professional advisors.
- To respond to any questions, complaints, or claims made by you or on your behalf;
- To comply with laws and regulations and provide to law enforcement agencies;
- To preserve our business records; and/or
- To conduct our business operations.
- Using the “unsubscribe” link in emails
- Texting the word “STOP” to us in texts; or
- Updating your marketing preferences at http://go.frontpointsecurity.com/forms/SubscriptionManagement.
- Rights to Know/Access. You have the right to request to access or know (i) the specific pieces of personal information we have about you; (ii) the categories of personal information we have collected about you; (iii) the categories of sources from which that personal information was collected; (iv) the categories of personal information we have disclosed for a business purpose, sold, or shared; (v) the categories of third parties to whom your personal information was disclosed, sold, or shared; and (vi) the purposes for collecting, selling, or sharing your personal information. Generally:
- We have collected the categories of personal information detailed in the section titled “Personal Information We May Collect About You” above.
- We have disclosed, sold, or shared certain categories of personal information detailed in the “Notice at Collection” section above.
- Right to Correct. Subject to certain exceptions, you may have the right to request that we correct the personal information that we have collected or maintain about you.
- Right to Deletion. Subject to certain exceptions, you may have the right to request that we delete the personal information that we have collected or maintain about you. We may deny your request under certain circumstances, such as if we need to comply with our legal obligations or complete a transaction for which your personal information was collected. If we deny your request for deletion, we will let you know the reason why.
- Right to restrict or opt out of the sale and “sharing” of your personal information. You may have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and can do so by using the settings on the Cookie Banner or by broadcasting an opt-out preference signal (i.e., Global Privacy Control), or select other options as fully described in the section titled “Your Privacy Choices with respect to Cookies”. using the “Data Request” tab on the Privacy icon popup on our Website.
- Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information. In certain circumstances, a California resident has the right to limit the use and disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information. Our use of your Sensitive Personal Information is necessary to provide products or services, or conduct HR operations as reasonably expected by an average consumer and not for those purposes for which you may exercise a right to limit the use or disclosure under California privacy laws. While this right is not applicable to how we collect or use your Sensitive Personal Information, we provide this information as this is a core part of your rights as a California Consumer.
- Right to be Free from Discrimination. If you choose to exercise any of these rights, we will not discriminate against you. Unless permitted by the California laws, we will not:
- Deny you goods or services;
- Charge you different prices or rates for goods or services, including through granting discounts or other benefits, or imposing penalties;
- Provide you a different level or quality of goods or services; or
- Suggest that you may receive a different price or rate for goods or services or a different level or quality of goods or services.
Further, we may receive your Personal Information that you voluntarily share with us when you access, use, or interact with us or the Services (including a Promotion, or any “Chat” features online, among others). Information you submit or send may fall into one or more of the other categories noted above. We will use such data in accordance with this policy, as otherwise disclosed at the time of collection, in accordance with our agreement with you, or to the extent necessary for providing our products and services to you.
Sensitive Personal Information. Some of the personal information described above may be considered “sensitive” under the laws of certain jurisdictions (“Sensitive Personal Information”). Whether information is Sensitive Personal Information depends on the laws of your jurisdiction. Our use or disclosure of such data is reasonably necessary and proportionate for those legitimate business purposes, including for us to provide our products or services to you, as contemplated in applicable state privacy laws. If you do not provide certain sensitive personal information, it may delay or prevent us from providing our products and services to you.

(i) Direct Collection: We collect most of this personal information directly from you, including account registration, customer support or product complaints (by telephone, text, chat or email), or via our Website and App (including surveys, questionnaires, or other webforms).

(iv) Information obtained from credit reporting agencies: we may obtain credit information about you from an outside credit reporting agency to help us with customer authentication and credit-related decisions, such as eligibility for discounts or contract length. When possible, we use a “soft” inquiry to determine qualification, which does not use your social security number and is not recorded on your credit history.
(v) Personal Information Collected through the Security Camera or other Camera-Enabled Products. When you enable or sign up for a plan that utilizes the recording features of our security camera, doorbell, sensor, or other camera-enabled products (“Camera-enabled Products”), we, or our third-party service providers, will record, store, and process video and/or audio recordings from these devices according to the selections you make during the product set-up or reconfiguration process. As part of a notification or analysis of the data to identify motion or other events, Camera-enabled Products may capture and make available to you one or more of the following categories of recording data:
We process and store information from your Camera-enabled Products to send you alerts when there is an event. If you have the recording features enabled, we will capture, process, and store video and audio recordings from your camera depending on your settings. This data will be stored until your storage capacity is reached, at which point the data will be deleted to accommodate new incoming data on a first-in-first-out basis. You (and not frontpoint) are solely responsible for ensuring that you comply with any applicable laws when you use camera-enabled products and the associated recordings.
3. Cookies and Other Similar Tracking Technologies.
A. What are Cookies?
When you access or use our Services, we may use cookies, web beacons, pixels, software development kits (SDKs), and other similar tracking technologies (collectively, “Cookie(s)”) to collect certain data. The below descriptions will help you understand different categories of Cookies that we may use for our Services:
B. Duration.
Some Cookies remain on your device(s) only while your browser is open and are deleted automatically or shortly after you close your browser. Some Cookies remain on your device(s) and expire automatically after a set time, like a few days, weeks, or months. When you return to our Website, a third-party site, or other platform(s) using the same persistent Cookies, these tracking technologies enable the platforms to recognize your devices and customize your experience.
C. Purposes of Cookies
Frontpoint and our marketing partners, affiliates, and analytics providers use Cookies to analyze trends, administer our Services, track usage information, identify which emails and links have been opened by recipients, provide Targeted Advertising (as defined below), prevent you from seeing repetitive Targeted Advertising or related content, conduct research regarding the usefulness of certain advertisements to you, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports on the information and data the Cookies provide on an individual and aggregated basis. For example,
Essential/Performance. Some Cookies are necessary or required for the Services to function properly or securely, and provide the features you have requested (including choices you make). This allows us to measure and improve the performance of the Services. H. Quality and Safety Assurance, which may include evaluation, analysis, improvement, and development of our products or services, performance of security and quality controls of the Website.

Because Frontpoint provides home security and monitoring services, we may incidentally collect personal information about children or teens who live in, visit, or are present at a property where Frontpoint products or services are used, including when a camera, video doorbell, sensor, alarm event, recording, notification, or monitoring feature captures their image, voice, movements, or activity. We may also collect limited information when a parent, guardian, or account holder authorizes a child or teen to use the App or related features to access or secure the home. (ii) Verification Procedures. Please note that for a request to be verifiable, you must provide sufficient information that allows us to reasonably verify your identity by matching information you have provided with the information we have on file for you, including email address, phone numbers, full names, addresses and other information. Further, you must describe your request with sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate, and respond to it. In some cases, we may request additional information to verify your identity, or where necessary to process your request. We reserve the right to deny a consumer request if the identity of the requesting party cannot be confirmed, in which case, we will provide you with an explanation for the denial.
(iii) Response Timing. Upon receiving a Request to Know, Request to Deletion, or Request to Correct, we will confirm receipt of the request within 10 business days and respond to the request within 45 calendar days from the date we receive your request. If necessary, we may take an additional 45 calendar days to respond to your request. If this extension is needed, we will notify you of the extension and explain the reasons why responding to your request will take more than 45 days. (iv) Authorized Agent. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. Authorized agents will be required to provide proof of their authorization.
