More Facebook Comments Detail FrontPoint Benefits and Positive Experiences
It’s a known fact that the alarm industry has been very slow to evolve. I’m not just talking home security technology, but also the way alarm companies market, and that includes social media. That’s why I like to see more and more alarm companies creating Facebook pages, starting blogs, and generally jumping on the bandwagon to leverage the power of the web.
Here at FrontPoint we continue to be big fans of social media and review sites – yes, you could even say we “Like” them! We started blogging over two years ago, and now have over 500 posts that inform, educate, and opine on pretty much every aspect of home security, home automation, and the peace of mind you expect from your alarm company. As for review sites, they really do provide a remarkably effective and efficient means for people to communicate. And as a nationwide service provider with an excellent reputation, FrontPoint has much to gain when people rave about us on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and other social platforms. We also think the world of sites like Angie’s list, Yelp, and Epinions, for the same reason. It’s even interesting to check out the negative review sites – like the Better Business Bureau (BBB), complaints.com and ripoffreport.com, since you can hardly find anything about FrontPoint there.
What People Post
As the FrontPoint name continues to spread across the US and Canada, we get more and more comments on our own Facebook page. And the conversation has been picking up – not just about the clever ways people use their FrontPoint wireless home security and home automation systems, but about other topics as well. But I particularly like the posts where folks share their experiences about the about the peace of mind that FrontPoint provides. Here’s a great example, posted by Connie just yesterday:
"I shared your page to my Facebook wall. I had never heard of your system till I started researching and FrontPoint had all the best reviews, and now I know why: you guys have been great, no complaints at all and so glad I went with you guys...wish I would have had you before our house was robbed, would have saved us thousands of dollars. Thank you again for the great customer service....."

We also keep a close eye on the competition, including new entrants to the alarm industry. After all, when heavy hitters like Comcast, Verizon, and AT&T decide they want in on our “turf,” we’d better pay attention! My recent post on the Comcast XFINITY offering elicited the following reaction from Frances, one of our newer customers, on September 24:
"I loved this article! Two things - you guys truly are listed as being the #1 company for home security, which is why I chose to give FrontPoint a chance. I had never heard of FP prior to finding it online. Compared with five other companies, FP was #1. I then found the FrontPoint Yelp page and there were nothing but positive comments - the other companies, not so much. This helped to solidify my choice in choosing FrontPoint for home security.
This [Comcast] article is amusing in the fact that just this past Saturday an XFINITY rep came to my door to offer me service. I signed up for the Internet & home phone line and was shocked when she began to ask me about my home security. I had been a Comcast customer in the past & vowed to not use them again. However, my options were pretty limited, so we'll see how I like just these two services. I almost laughed in the sales rep’s face when she began to tell me about their home security software. I asked how long they had been in it and she replied that it was VERY new. I kindly said "no thank you" as I'm currently awaiting my FrontPoint security system. :D
My system should arrive tomorrow & I can't wait to get it all hooked up. I'm hoping that my service will be as great & rewarding as what I've read on Yelp and what I see in the videos on your website. :)"
Other Comments are More Serious
We’ve also read comments about how having a FrontPoint system may well have prevented a burglary. Customers tell us how their neighbors without alarm systems have been burglarized, but our customers were passed over. There are actually statistics that support this fact: it’s been shown that having a monitored home alarm system makes you only one third as likely to experience a burglary as your unprotected neighbor. And with an intrusion happening every 14 seconds in the US, that’s a meaningful measure of security.
There are tons more comments on the FrontPoint Facebook page, ranging from informative to downright funny, and we appreciate them all. And we’ll continue to work on expanding our social media activities, since these forums give our customers (and our prospective customers!) the perfect opportunity to ask questions, share timely tips and experiences, and even sing our praises.
And when someone has an issue with us, you’ll see that too – we don’t hit the “delete” key when a customer offers constructive advice on how we can do home security better. After all, we’ve spent years developing the best methods to protect homes and families, and along the way we’ve had some great suggestions from our customers. That’s just one more reason that FrontPoint is the recognized leader in wireless home security.
