Tips & Tricks to Know Your Notifications

Hopefully, you’re in the habit of putting your system’s notification features to work. They’re designed to integrate seamlessly into your everyday life via your smartphone, tablet or computer. Now it’s easier than ever to create and set notifications. While previously, all notifications had to be created and assigned via your MyFrontpoint.com account; you can do so quickly and easily, directly from our mobile app.

If you want your home security system to not only keep you safe, but also keep you connected and in the loop, becoming familiar with your notification options is key. We say it a lot, but one of main benefits of an alarm system is peace of mind. By setting notifications, you can be sure that some of those nagging everyday worries are put to rest.

Let’s take a look at the types of notifications you can set, including a few that you might not have initially thought of.

Did I Remember To…?

We’ve all been there – rushing around in the morning, trying to get out the door and on your way. You’re almost to work when panic strikes – “Did I remember to arm the system. Or close the garage door?”

Before you had a Frontpoint system, the doubt might have made you consider turning around just to double check. Well, not anymore. You can easily set notifications to alert you if you leave home without performing a specific action. So you can go on with your day, minus the worry.

Did The Kids Make It Home On Time?

Parents want to be sure their children are where they should be at all times. So if the kids are due back at home immediately after school, you want to know when they get there.

By assigning your child a user code, you can then set a notification that lets you know when they enter that code upon arriving home.

Are They Behaving?

Whether it’s the medicine cabinet or liquor cabinet, there are certain places in the home you might want to make sure stay off limits. Or, let’s say your child is told to stay away from the video game system until all his homework is done. It may sound difficult to enforce while you’re away, but in fact, there are notifications you can set to ensure you’re alerted if they go near any “no-go zones,” so you can catch them in the act.

These are just some of the examples of the types of notifications you can set. If you’ve discovered any creative ways to use your system that we haven’t covered, share them with us in the comments.

Here are a coup of notification that I like. 1. Power loss to the house. 2. Low temperature. If your away from home during the winter these alerts let you know if you are in danger of "freezing pipes". Also if you are having a friend to do a "walk through" check occasionally while your gone the disarm and arm alerts let you know when they checked your house and how long it took. Please don't use my last name if you quote me as it could be a "tip-off" of a vacant protected house. No sense advertising an empty house even if it is alarmed.
