|November 7, 2013As you may already know, FrontPoint partnered with Alarm.com back at our conception in 2007. As a result of that partnership, our wireless home security system reaps many benefits from Alarm.com’s unique features. We’re very excited to announce that Alarm.com was recently named “Best” by CE Pro Magazine for its Geo-Services.
We think Geo-Services offers extreme usefulness and the honor is well-deserved. We’re also aware that many customers may not know that these services exist, what they are, or what they do. Today, we’re going to clear up all the mystery.
What It Is
Alarm.com’s Geo-Services is an exclusive technology that strengthens the connection between you and your home through the GPS technology in your smartphone. That’s a fancy way of saying it uses your smartphone’s GPS location to interact with your system.
How It Works
The “heart” of Geo-Services is the “geofence” -- an invisible area specified by the user around the location of your security system (typically a home or office). Whenever you pass the geofence, either by leaving the area or coming into it, any rules and settings you have applied will go into effect. It is designed to make your life a little bit easier.
What sort of rules or settings can you apply? I’m glad you asked.
