We have sold our home and will be moving in the near future. The people who bought the home are wanting us to leave the alarm system and just change it to their name. Is that possible? We would then need to install a new system in our new home (if we ever find one).

Craig, you actually have 2 options here! Option 1: You can leave your current system in the home you have sold, and you can switch the system into the new homeowner's name and responsibility. This is what we call a "contract transfer" and we can set that up for you whenever you want, just give us a call! Option 2: You can take your system with you. All the sensors can be removed quickly and without marking up your walls. Just pack everything up, give us a call to tell us you're moving, and we will make sure your system gets setup in your new home whenever you're ready. We will also make sure we put your system in the right status as to not let it set off any alarms during the moving process. Please just let us know how we can help you feel secure with your move, and we will make sure you get everything you need.

I plan on moving to a new home. However, I will not be selling my current home, where your system is currently located, for three months. Is there a short term contract that I can get for the home I will be selling?

Emil, you have a couple different options when it comes to moving but I'm a bit confused as to where you would like your Frontpoint system to stay/be located now and in the future. What if you are not moving but want to replace a door or window that a sensor is already adhered to -- what is the procedure for that?

Kathleen, if you are replacing a door or window that already had a sensor on it, just give our support team a call and they will walk you through taking that sensors off and then they will put it in a special status so it doesn't interact with your system until you want it to.

Let's share one helpful DIY moving tip: If you’re loading your own removal van, remember to place the heavier boxes on the bottom and use old blankets to protect your furniture from damage. It’s also a good idea to have wrapped furniture in plastic sheets for extra protection. A good tip when loading a van is to use drawers for storage space.
