Meet the Touchscreen Control Panel, a powerful new addition to the Frontpoint ecosystem. Paired with the Frontpoint Hub, this advanced piece of tech is an easy-to-use device that serves as the nerve center for your home’s security. All it takes is a touch to manage and interact with your entire system.

Touch Controls

Say goodbye to buttons! The Touchscreen Control Panel features a 7” vibrant display that you interact with, placing the system literally at your fingertips. The 5-point capacitive precise HD touchscreen makes it easy to control your system with touch arming and disarming, simple settings management, and more.



When your Frontpoint system is connected to a smart thermostat, you can control your home’s temperature settings using the Touchscreen. The Touchscreen Control Panel also displays the weather, so you always know when to grab a jacket.


Screen and Sounds

Personalize your Frontpoint Touchscreen Control Panel with your favorite photos. Display a slide show of up to 19 photos as your screensaver. The screensaver will activate 1 minute or 5 minutes after use, depending on your settings. You can also adjust the brightness and volume of the Touchscreen to match your preferences.



The Touchscreen Control Panel has desktop setup and wall-mounting options. For a desktop setup, the Touchscreen comes with two supporting brackets. Attach the brackets, then place the device where you want it. For a wall mount setup, the Touchscreen comes with wall-mounting bracket and screws. Once it’s placed in the desired location, connect the Touchscreen to your Wi-Fi network followed by your Frontpoint Hub.

Hello, When might the IQ2 secondary panel be available for this new touchscreen system? I contacted support and they said it wasn't being offered by Frontpoint yet. Additionally they said that the Simon XT talking touchscreen will not work with this new system. That's holding me back from upgrading since I won't have a way to replace my secondary panels at this time... I'm sure other customers will be in the same situation. If the vendor offers this on their site, I'm not sure why Frontpoint isn't offering this accessory.

Hi Brady, this is an excellent question. Before Frontpoint releases a new product, we make sure to put it through rigorous testing to ensure that it meets our safety protocols and standards. I'm personally unsure when the IQ2 secondary panel will be released, but I'll look into this for you.

Just confirming. Does this mean that if you upgrade to the new touch screen you are not currently able to have secondary panels (ie this is the only panel that can be used)? In a 3 story house thats not feasible, so trying to confirm that is the case before looking into this further.

Hi Jason, might not be the answer you want to hear, but that is correct. While the mobile app and Keychain Remote will work as normal, there's currently not an option to use secondary panels with the new Touch-Screen Control Panel. We're working on solutions for the near future, but they're not ready as of this moment.

how about the other alarm.com interlogix sensors as well. there are advanced ones out there not being offered. I can have indoor motion that will work with my 60 pound dog for instance. front point will not offer it yet I can buy it off ebay or amazon and learn it to my system. so what that you do not "support" that sensor then. why do you not offer the newest tech in sensors also when it comes out?

Daniel, great questions. We intend on integrating more sensors as time goes on, however we only support and sell sensors we can test and find to be reliable at all times. We would never want to give you something that might have larger connectivity problems down the line, because then we wouldn't be keeping our promise of always giving you amazing service and products. Keep an eye out for updates though, as we intend on releasing come pretty cool information we know you'll love pretty soon!

Brian, good question! The new Touch-Screen Control Panel can support up to 59 devices (technically 60 if you count the panel itself), whereas the Simon XT can support up to 39 devices. Let us know if you need anything else!

$299 with a three year agreement is a very bad offer. Ill stick with my Simon xt. While I like Frontpoints customer service, your monthly monitoring plans are not competive with the rest of the market. Fortunately my 3 year agreement is expiring soon.

Julien, we understand why you might feel as if this offer is not the greatest. This Touch Screen panel retails for much more money that we are offering it for, and this is something we kept in mind when explaining the offers we currently have. We would never make you switch from your Simon XT panel and and please know that the Simon XT will protect you just as much as the Touch Screen panel would. Julien, the new Touch Screen does exactly the same things the Simon XT does when it comes to integration with all your sensors. A Touch Screen Remote is considered a sensor and therefore should work with our new Touch Screen panel just fine!

If you don't want to upgrade, don't pay the price. Everyone wants something for nothing. I just finished a 3 year contract with FrontPoint and just signed a new 3 year agreement. For the service, price and quality I stand behind them. If you go somewhere else, good luck and update us when you sign back up with FrontPoint.

Okay, I can comprehend $299 for a new digital control panel. What I don't understand is how or why FrontPoint expects existing loyal customers (like me) to commit to a new 3-year contract. There are too many other good solutions out there that offer great packages/pricing (Vivint, etc) - making the move to a totally new system very feasible. Please try to retain us, not alienate us.

There should be a note of some kind in the email sent to existing customers that the new touch control panel cost over $300 to change out. When grant told me the cost it took me aback. The email makes it sound like it is an upgrade offered to existing customers , not a voluntary one that costs quite a bit of money

Can I mount this on a wall and have the wire ran in-wall? Would I have to be on the top-tier monitoring plan to use this panel if I don't have any other automation on my system?

Hi Chris, yes - you can mount this on a wall! You can also run the wire through walls. As for monitoring, you do NOT need to be part of the Ultimate Monitoring plan, the Touch-Screen Control Panel is available to anyone with Interactive or Ultimate Monitoring.

seriously I agree. As a brand new owner also, barely my first month, and had conversation with my salesperson how I was in no hurry a few days or weeks would not matter I wanted to do some research before deciding on a company it sure would have been nice to hear ....we have a new panel coming out in a couple weeks.....now instead I have brand new nothing...ugh.

To mirror what other customers have said, for Frontpoint to require a three-year contract extension for the purpose of upgrading equipment is not conducive to maintaining a loyal customer base. While the customer service is exceptional, this policy will have me looking elsewhere for a home security solution, and one that is more budget-friendly.

Travis, at this very moment Apple's HomeKit is not something we are going to integrate, therefore we can't know if it will be completely compatible with our new Touch Screen. Flat screen or not - it would take a lot more than that to get me to leave Frontpoint. The customer service is far and away superior to anyone else. I'm never aggravated with constant calls to upgrade which I appreciate. Any technical question I have is welcomed. Above all Frontpoint is dependable. It doesn't matter how fancy the screen (or not) if the service behind it isn't there.

I had the Frontpoint system for one month and the control panel battery went out. I've had the system for less than 10 months and now the control panel sound doesn't work when you come in the house to let you know that the alarm is on. Frontpoint customer service is good but the control panel has been subpar. I can't afford an updated one. We had ADT and never had problems like this. Might be going back to them.

I am a brand new customer of Frontpoint. I just received and installed my box of goodies last week [week of 5/26] (including, of course, what's now the old control panel). Will Frontpoint phase out the control panel type I have and require the new panel over the next 3 years (my contract period)? If I want the new panel, what will it cost me and will I have to add 3 years to my contract making it a 6 year contract? Thank you.

Does the Touch Screen Control panel know when WiFi is unavailable before an alarm is sounded, or must it try to send a signal to the central station via WiFi unsuccessfully before going to radio?

Julien, the new Touch-Screen Control panel will use cellular signals, just like the rest of your system. WiFi is generally used for wireless cameras or accessing your system through your MyFrontpoint.com account on your home computer.

As a loyal customer over the past year, I wondered if the new touch screen control panel will be something I will receive as an upgrade to my existing system? Richy, great question! The new Touch-Screen Control Panel is a new product we just released. New customers will have a choice when purchasing their equipment and can pick between the Simon XT and the Touch-Screen. The Touch-Screen Panel has the same capabilities as the existing panel, but the price points are different. New customers can decide which product and price works best for them, while current customers can upgrade to a Touch-Screen Panel for a discounted rate. I am as surprised as others. I purchased a system recently with 2x720 camera's. Then they were replaced with the 721's soon after my activation. No offer to change them out or nothing mentioned when I purchased the system they the equipment was being phased out. Now the same with the touch panel. I'm really disappointed and am considering letting my contract go when it expires.

The guidebook makes it appear that "no entry delay" must be set independently of the "stay" command. Is this true or does arming the system "stay" automatically activate no entry delay as it does on the Simon panel?

Don, if you press the "Stay" arming option once, it will arm your perimeter sensors (like doors and windows) with your entry delay. If you press that same "Stay" button a second time, it will arm those same exact sensors but this time with no entry delay. Don, anything that the Simon XT can do, the Touch Screen can do. So if the Simon XT had a capability for a specific remote siren, so will the new Touch Screen panel!

Not true, I had to replace my old remote siren that worked with the GE Simon XT as it would not pair with the new base controller. If you have a way I would be MOST interested, none of the techys at FP could figure it out.

It's an alarm. It's not a tablet. Do you really want to be placing wear and tear on a system as critical as home security so that you can watch reaction videos on Youtube? If you want a tablet, go buy a tablet and stop complaining that your alarm doesn't function as a multimedia system just like a toaster doesn't make coffee and your lawn mower doesn't function as a dialysis machine.

Haha, totally agree man! I was reading Ken's comment and kinda scratching my head. I've been with frontpoint for a few months after escaping from Xfinity home. It had a number of useless extras that Ken would love. I found them completely frivolous and I agree, I have a number of other devices for entertainment. I want my alarm panel to be dedicated to, oh I don't know, protecting my family and property. Frontpoint, please don't add that extra junk. Just keep focusing on security and automation. I LOVE my system!!

Is the home screen customizeable? I don't see a way to quickly turn on lights (a feature I and my short 8-year-old use to turn on a tall, behind-the-TV, floor-standing halogen light). It appears that you have to go through a couple of menus to do this. And I agree with others about having to pay so much AND sign a 3-year contract for this touch screen control panel. Do you really think people will pay $299 and then leave Frontpoint after a year? Maybe if this panel had a Youtube app or other things that made it more versatile. Do you have ANY idea of the apps that Qolsys or Frontpoint is developing for it? I was considering upgrading until I saw the issues I've brought up in this comment.

Ken, thanks for posting this. Being able to customize your home screen is not something you can do at the moment, but we're going to send your idea to our Products Team to keep in mind for future updates. We are looking into all the features the new Touch Screen panel can utilize, however, at this moment we can't promise anything. Also, if you're a current customer and want to upgrade there are multiple offers available to you, not just $299, so please give our Support Team a call whenever you find the chance and they would be happy to explain all the different options we are offering right now!

I called yesterday and was just given the $300+3 year commitment offer...or pay full price. I told the Rep that that was way too much for a device that has no browser (to play YouTube videos from the internet while in my kitchen or to pull up a recipe from a website, etc.), no home-screen customizability and turns my Simon XT into a paper weight (i.e., I can't continue to use the Simon XT at a different entry point of the house). I could get an Ipad Mini3 with WiFi from BestBuy at that price with no commitment and be able to do way more things combined with my Simon XT and the Alarm.com app. Plus, it would be mobile.) Valerie, unless you have some hidden deal in your pocket, this upgrade offer makes little sense to me in light of these realities. Feel free to elucidate me if you are inclined.

Just ordered the new Qolsis touch panel with a new 3 year contract. I have been with Frontpoint for several years and the equipment and service have been excellent! I'm excited for this new controller because the software, being an Android system, can be updated and expanded. I was wondering if Frontpoint was going to be offering the IQ2 secondary controller in the future? Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi John, happy to hear you're happy with your service so far! As for your question, we're currently testing out the IQ2 secondary controllers. I can't offer a timeline as to when we'll be ready to launch it, but stay tuned!

Please be advised, this new Q touchscreen control panel IS NOT compatible with a lot. If you want or own a schlage lever lock, flush your money down the drain. Once you own this POS piece of equipment, plan on spending multiple hours on the phone with frontpoint support. Things just do not work correctly and as much as frontpoint tries to soften the blow, I still have security concerns. With this new control panel, my settings steadily change, torn off alerts abs still get them etc. of course frontpoint won't take the blame, they will claim it's not the unit, claim it's not alarm.com, claim the user did something incorrectly (since they don't have installers). I really like this company but they seriously need to do their homework and get their sh#* together.

Kevin, we certainly can understand why having to troubleshoot your system would be frustrating. You shouldn't have to have the issues you mention above, and we know there are ways to address these concerns permanently. I just signed up with Frontpoint and I was able to pair my tablet with the Schlage Camelot deadbolt door lock. I was also able to pair it with Kwikset deadbolt door lock (910 model). I did all this while having technical support on the phone with me and it worked very well. Some tweaking had to be done first with the Kwikset door lock but it worked out in the end. They also guide me through to install all doors and windows sensors and pair them with the tablet as well as the lighting module and more. I do advise any of you to double check with Frontpoint tech support before buying any Z wave device on your own to ensure you do not have to go through the process of returning items and potentially paying restocking fees. Overall, all items recommended by Frontpoint staff have worked as expected. I just wish Frontpoint expanded the list of Z wave device items that are compatible with the tablet rather than restricting customers to the limited options they have on their list. The list of Z wave devices from some Frontpoint's competitors is greater with devices that seem to be more attractive and functional.

I have been a customer now for a couple of years and have been extremely happy with Frontpoint. The one thing I have never liked however is the looks of the control panel. I am thrilled to see the updated touchscreen version. I am very disappointed that FrontPoint doesn't offer some sort of discount on this piece of equipment for current customers. Its just like all the other companies. They make offers for new customers and once they have you locked into an agreement you are stuck with status qou. Why wouldn't they allow us to mail in the old "dated" control panel for a newer sleeker model? I understand perhaps some fee but feel that it should be nominal in their efforts to grow loyalty and keep their existing customers happy. 299.00 is extreme

I really like the idea of the new motion detector with the picture taking capability a lot.. Unfortunately it is not compatible with my control panel. It requires the new touch screen panel. That is the problem with the business model where customer has to buy the equipment upfront. The company has no incentives to keep the new equipment (sensors) compatible with existing equipment. In fact, the company is better off to force customers upgrade to the new equipment. I am very disappointed that FrontPoint does not offer a discounted path for existing customers to upgrade or trade-up to the new panel.

I just signed up for Frontpoint last week and received my new touch screen panel today. Customer service was very nice but when I spoke to the salesman and told him about my existing Simon XT alarm system (which I've had for several years from another company) and the sensors that I had INCLUDING my doors that are hard wired sensors from a different system that were incorporated into my XT panel. I asked if they would work and be compatible with the Qolsys touch screen because I didn't want to spend money on new sensors if I didn't have to and he said it should be fine. Now that I received my new system, I opened it up and see that the power supply and wire is a complete unit unlike other systems where you connect the transformer to the wiring. Come to find out, after talking to customer service & tech support, that you cannot bury the power supply wire in the wall, connect it to any existing alarm wire that's been run for power as it will void the warranty. They told me it had to be run on the face of the drywall or get an electrician to run a new outlet below the panel. YA RIGHT!!!! Who in the world wants to install that stupid plastic wiremold crap on the outside of my walls to run the freakin power cord to the panel!! Can you say cheesy!!!!! I asked the customer service guys how they wired their systems in the houses on their website videos?There were no wires running on the drywall in their videos! Also, after talking on the phone with tech support 3 times, come to find out the wired door sensors will NOT WORK with this system. 3 different people and different stories. If I had know this from the very beginning (which is the reason for telling him of the door sensors) I probably wouldn't have ordered this system from them. I do have to say the customer support was very good about trying to keep me and offered me free wireless door sensors and a couple months of free monitoring to rectify the issue with the wired sensors. I am very appreciative and have no issues about the new sensors but, it still doesn't fix the issue with running wires on the face of my walls. To me it's unacceptable. I was extremely frustrated to say the least. Don't know if I am going to keep this system.

I'm not finding the control panel selection to turn off the computer. If I leave it on will it drain the battery?

Gael, great question! Your Control Panel is designed to stay on at all times, therefore, will not drain your battery. The Control Panel should also be plugged in to a power outlet which is constantly charging that back up battery. I bought the Touchscreen Control Panel under the impression that the interface screen would look like the picture above with colored icons that make sense and which make arming and disarming visually easier. Instead the unit was shipped with a bland, colorless screen that is two steps backward from what was pictured in the adds at the time of purchase. In the previous software version, the buttons would glow red if the system was armed and green if disarmed. Now the buttons only glow green if armed giving a false sense of security. I contacted customer support back in June and requested they change the control panel software to look like the iPhone and iPad app. I was told a software change was coming very soon. Still no update. Can you please tell us the status of the updated Touchscreen Control Panel software?

Our touch panel was updated by phone support to new firmware this week to fix the problem that the previous version froze after several months of use. The new version is working except agree that is a step backward in functionality in that it has green lights when armed stay, and we lost the amber for stay and red for armed away on the display. Hoping this can be reverted soon while keeping the changes that were made to fix the panel freezing issue.

I currently have the IQ Touch Panel with Frontpoint and it works just fine. At times the panel is slow when responding to keystrokes while disarming. Its more of a nuisance than an issue. I see QOLSYS is releasing a new IQ Touch Panel 2. It looks awesome! Will Frontpoint be offering this panel, once its been officially released?

My new touch screen panel occasionally does not recognize the pass code. I have two different codes but last night even the master code was considered invalid and tripped the alarm. Eventually after several tries it worked. We realized that the screen is not very sensitive (like an iPhone screen) and the processor rather slow. However, slow and firm pushing the numbers did not work either. Scary and annoying. Am I supposed to use the panel differently?

We just signed up for FrontPoint's ultimate plan and was disappointed when we opened the box to find the "old" style control panel instead of the touch screen model. We've actually decided not to activate the system yet because this is not what we expected. What do we need to do to get the touchscreen model? The option was never mentioned by the salesperson when we signed up and we just assumed that if we were signing up for the top of the line plan that we'd receive the latest top of the line equipment. I see on here that many current customers have received the touch screen model, seems odd that new customers are not.

I am interested in buying a Frontpoint system, but I am not thrilled about mounting the control panel on a wall and having the power supply wire hanging down to a power outlet. I would prefer to have a recessed power outlet installed at the place in the wall where I would mount the control panel. But I do not see any spec sheet information on the size of the control power power plug and length of wire, so that I can design a recessed area in my wall small enough to be covered by the control panel, but large enough to accommodate the power plug and wrapped up power cord. Does Frontpoint have that kind of information available?

Thank you for reaching out Ofer! While we do not have this information available through our website, the Simon XT spec sheet can be google searched for more in-depth specs. In regards to the length of the AC wire is about 7 1/2 ft. while the AC adapter is about 2" wide, 3" tall, 2 1/2" thick. We hope this was helpful!
